Welcomed Sights of Spring!

Somehow each spring a mother robin always finds this spot to build her nest! I watched her one day building it. She used dead leaves from my day lilies...saved me a job!! There are 3 eggs in the nest. One fell out and broke on the sidewalk :(. Poor mother must get tired of flying away every time we come in and out of that front door!
This is the sight I look forward to every year!! It is called an Indiana Red Bud, I think! Luke was counting all the "purple trees" he saw on the way to school today. Sure wish it stayed this way longer!
Ours is one of the larger red buds around here. It always blooms the end of April-just in time for this guy's birthday.........
HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY, DEAR!! His birthday was Saturday and we got to have a nice dinner date together. I thank the Lord for Scott. So many, many reasons to love him (here are a few)- his leadership, his tender servant's heart, his love for the Lord, his wisdom, his work ethic, his humor, his dashing good looks.....OK, I'll save the rest to share with just him.:) I love you, Scott!

The Exciting Events of this Week!!

Emmy is potty training and doing a great job! She truly is training herself. I have heard others say this at times and always thought "ya, right!" For real, she takes her diaper/pull up off herself and heads to the potty chair on her OWN and then comes and tells me "potty, mom!" I am shocked every time it happens!!! YEAH!!!!! I see the light at the end of the tunnel when it comes to diaper duty!!:)

Wednesday afternoon I received one of those calls from school that you really don't ever want to get!! Scott called just as I was leaving the YMCA and said, "I have Andrew here in Dad's office and I am pretty sure he has broken his collar bone!" What!?!?!?!?!? Panic seized my mommy heart immediately and I couldn't get to him fast enough. Well, except for when Scott (teasingly) told me that the bone was coming through the skin!!! I then said I wasn't going to be able to handle that...he had to take him to the doctor himself!! Well, long story short we took him to the orthopedic office and after xrays they confirmed he broke his collar bone. I wish you could see the xray. It looks like a tree branch broken in half with one piece laying on top of the other!!! His doctor said it is very unusual for children to break not just fracture the collar bone because their bones are so pliable. He was playing flag football at recess and got plowed to the ground by a boy in his class who is about double Andrew's size! He is in a brace and sling for about six weeks. Quite a bummer for a very active boy who loves to be outside playing sports. Pray for him...this will be a long road!

Springtime fun-my great $3 find at Aldi!!

A new hiding spot in my new dryer

Look who got into the shoe tub! It was SUPPOSED to be time to get dressed!

These are just a few of the funny pictures I have gotten in the past week. These two fuss at each other constantly, but are the best of buddies. Emilee will be absolutely lost when the day comes for Luke to head off to school!!!
